Abstract

Social, cultural and economics transformations in rural areas must be observed in order to
produce a social secure the maintenance of rural life and the preservation of these resources.
This article analyzes the module on social assistance offered to women in the rural community
of Mazombinha, which sought to promote access to social rights as a way to change the logic
of social exclusion. Located in the municipality of Itaguaí (RJ), where there was a dilution of
labor in the field as megaenterprises settled in the region. Factor that may compromise the
dynamics of family’s agriculture in the territory, and lead to other phenomenon such as socioeconomic
reproduction of families, maintenance of this social and cultural bonds, food security
and the preservation of natural resources and the rural landscape. In this way, rural women
play a key role in preserving agroecological activity, since the men of the families, in search
of better remuneration, are attracted to the formal jobs in the big industries. The results show
that the course contributed to the understanding of women farmers regarding their rights and
mechanisms for access; Promoting autonomy as social agents of their territories.
