Abstract

The objective of this study was to verify the role and effective participation of peasant women in
the development of agroecological agriculture in the community of Feliz Lembrança. For that,
the rising of qualitative data was collected through an informal conversation with five peasant
women. Based on the reports, it was verified that the family farm fair in Alegre and the installation
of the agro-industry Frumel allowed the development and diversification of agroecological
production in the community, however, it was from the Food Acquisition Program that peasant
women Were integrated into the process of production and commercialization of agroecological
products. The organized movement of women within the Association made possible complementary
training for them, increasing the diversity, processing and valorization of products
provided by the community, generating supplementation of family income.
