Abstract

The objective of this work was to test the influence of cow urine as an inducer and accelerator on the emergence of genipap seeds (Genipa americana L). The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse belonging to IFPE - Campus Barreiros, in the municipality of Barreiros, Pernambuco. A completely randomized design was used, with 5 treatments and 4 replications, totaling 20 plots, each experimental plot consisted of 25 cups with two seeds each, totaling 1000 seeds. The treatments tested were: T1, control (pure water); T2, 25% cow urine; T3, 50% cow urine; T4, 75% cow urine; and, T5, 100% cow urine. The seeds of genipap had a high germination rate (92%), and there was no influence of cow urine on the rate and speed of emergence.
