Abstract

The Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) implemented by SOF (Sempreviva Organização
Feminista) in Ribeira Valley founded on agroecology has created a direct sale between
family farmers, quilombola women and consumer groups based in São Paulo. The rural
women participation in this process, not only for income access, increased their economic and
personal autonomy. The consumer groups accepted the challenge to build a market appropriated
to the rural women: respecting their times and valuing the diversity of their products. This
experience of build a market embedded in the participants’ political willingness exercise the
principles of feminist economics and plural economics.
