Rural Tourism in the Development Perspectives of the Araraquara Settlements

Abstract

This work expresses a research in progress, which seeks to understand the importance of rural tourism and "sustainable" food in settlements, held in the master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Territorial Development and Environment of Uniara, dealing with themes that revolve around gastronomy and culinary, historical patrimony and current history / context of the settled families of the agrarian reform in the region of Araraquara - SP, more specifically in the district of Bueno of Andrada, in the Settlement Monte Alegre, formerly Farm Monte Alegre, that used its lands for the eucalyptus plantation, by FEPASA (Ferrovia Paulista SA). Today the settlement has 6 nuclei located between the municipalities of Araraquara, Matão and Motuca and has a total area of ​​5,978.12 hectares distributed in 416 agricultural lots with 12 to 14 ha each, and 416 families settled. The results have revealed the importance of rural tourism in enhancing the role of settlements in territorial development.
