Training of students in the implementation of an agroforest unit in Petrolina-PE

Abstract

The demonstration unit of the Agroforestry System located in the experimental area of the Federal Institute of Sertão Pernambucano - IF Sertão-PE, Campus Petrolina Zona Rural,
located in Petrolina-PE, was implemented in the second half of 2017, with the objective of training students and farmers. In order to do so, the initial planting and development of the
agroforestry arrangement was carried out with the collaboration of students through the training sessions, composed of practical classes and theoretical expositions on SAFs and
sustainable food production, involving native species of caatinga, fruit trees and cycle crops medium and short, promoting productive diversification and harmonization among species
of economic interest, nature and human health.
