Abstract

This study sought to analyze the presence of women in the Cazumbá - Iracema Extractive Reserve in all its history, the activities performed by them and their performance in key moments for the survival of all, emphasizing their leadership role and management of several activities developed at Resex. The understanding of the feminine role in the different constitutions of traditional communities and the valuation of the knowledge obtained by them as a foundation for the maintenance of the communities as a whole is of paramount importance. The methodological tools were qualitative in order to meet the objectives in a systemic and holistic way. It was possible to verify that the women were present from the rubber plantations to the present moment, acting in an expressive way in the development of Resex in different scopes, even though there is still much work to be fully recognized and to obtain space for expression of all its potentiality.
