Abstract

Participatory Mapping can be understood as a methodological tool that dynamically and interactively approaches the knowledge of a certain social group, enabling them to construct their territorial maps using elements of intense significance, contributing with the self-recognition, belonging of the territory, as well as planning and management of natural resources. Traditional grassland communities make collective use of land for animal husbandry and conserve vast territory for the management and maintenance of their way of life. The objective of this work was to present the participative mapping workshop of the thematic Fundo de Pasto group of the Ouricuri Community located in Uauá / Bahia. Participatory methodologies were used with pre-structured scripts, in a collective work workshop on the areas destined to the Fundo de Pasto. We have resulted in a thematic map of these areas of release of the animals for the purpose of managing the potentialities and challenges of the Uauá / Bahia pastureland territory.
