Abstract

The Cerrado occupies an area of approximately 207 million hectares, with a high diversity of plant and fruit species, but the fragmentation process has caused the native vegetation to be eliminated to expand the agroforestry frontier. The Caryocar brasiliense Camb pequiary is of socioeconomic importance for rural, traditional and extractive populations, the process of dormancy of pequi seeds is complex, and there are no effective methods for overcoming them. The objective of this work was to evaluate the pre-germinative effects in overcoming dormancy. The seeds were submitted to treatments: Fermentation T1, lateral scarification T2; Scarification tip T3; Temperature T4 and Witness T5. The treatments were not effective, what can be attributed to damages caused in the embryo by means of the scarification, and or, action of fungi in which the pequi seeds are susceptible, being necessary more studies
