Abstract

This study aims to report on the experiences of women based on the rescue and multiplication
of creole seeds in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul. A group of 20 women from the settlements
of the Juti region, concerned with the security and food sovereignty of their families, Dedicated
effort in the rescue and multiplication of the creole seeds for more than 10 years. These have
produced around their residences a great diversity of culture, that every year, after the harvest
select the best seeds and store for the following year, in addition, they make the exchange with
the neighbors to thus improve the diversity of their fields. The agroecological women of the
region of Juti are protagonists in the conservation of the genetic diversity of the creole seeds,
since in addition to multiply, they select the best seeds, and practice the exchange of these
among the different settlements. In addition, they promote food and nutritional security and the
food sovereignty of their families.
