Abstract

The School of Agroecology of Nova Iguaçu (EANI) is an experiment in a popular education space underway in 2007 in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu (RJ), currently coordinated by Emater-NI and administered by the Pastoral Land Commission (CPT). Having the territory as analytical base from the junction of cultural, economic, political and social variables (TENÓRIO, 2016), the object of investigation of this experience report is to analyze the social transformations directly related to the theory and practice proposed methodologically by the actions of EANI under the agroecological perspective that has contributed to the reproduction and permanence of family agriculture in the territory and the relation of these factors with the establishment of local instruments of emancipation and social power, based on the affirmation of the social cultural identity of these actors.
