Social technologies as an agroecological option for ensure food and nutritional sovereignty in the semi-arid region

This paper describes the experience of vegetable production in the semi-arid region of the
Southwest Region of Bahia using social technologies such as the economic beds irrigated
with flood water stored in underground reservoirs. The production based on agroecological
principles is increasing the food security of the beneficiary families and increasing the income
obtained from the sale of vegetables, thus demonstrating the socio-environmental viability of
social technologies to coexist with the Semi-Arid.
