Abstract

This work aims to review the literature, discuss the use of homeopathy and its importance in family farming as a tool of agroecology in the extreme west meso region of Bahia. The study consisted of a review of the literature that analyzed and discussed its use and importance in the peasant / traditional agriculture (Geraizeiros, Quilombolas), as a tool of agroecology proposing its insertion in the western mesoregion of Bahia. We sought a history from the origin as well as dissemination in Brazil, and based on the experiences of the Federal University of Viçosa - UFV, State University of Maringá - UEM, Cooperativa de Productores Agropecuaristas de Campinas do Sul / MS and the Support Center to the Small Farmer - CAPA / PR. Having as results the agriculturalists acquired autonomy, qualification, organization, discipline, harmony in their property and in their family. It was concluded that homeopathy applied in family farming has legal protection. It is a social technology, simple, practical, economical, effective, free of chemical residues harmful to health. Therefore, it is recommended the implementation of pilot projects in residents' associations, rural settlements and in the municipal secretariats that make up this Meso-region, especially those that still resist traditional livestock - Geraizeira and quilombola, as agroecological strengthening
