Abstract

Abstract: The present study was carried out at the Federal University of Rio Grande, São Lourenço do Sul Campus - RS. This study aim relate the process of agroecological transition to the occurrence of psychological violence towards rural women. The reflections were made based on the bibliographical review and conversations with two ecological farmers. It is concluded that the presence of systemic “machismo” is a reality in rural areas, and that because of this, processes that stimulate the agroecological transition must take into account the complexity and specificity of the theme, since today the protagonism, in most cases, is female.
