Abstract

Based on the claims of the Women’s Arrangement of the Campo de Minas Gerais, presented
to the Minas Gerais government in 2015, the Secretariat of Agrarian Development and the
João Pinheiro-MG Foundation developed a survey on the reality of women in agroecology.
Meetings were held that defined the scope and format of the research. With the perspective
of giving visibility to the life trajectories and struggles of women, oral history methodology was
adopted. Thus, 12 women were indicated to be interviewed and represent the reality of women
from the countryside of Minas Gerais. Considering the scope of the research, it was necessary
to delimit the objective of this article for the life history of a producer. In this sense, the main objective
of this work was to present the trajectory of Elaine de Souza Martins Ahnert, marked by
struggles and achievements in the light of her experiences with agroecological gardens (PAIS).
