Strengthening of the food sovereignty in the sidewalk of PUENTE PALO, La Cumbre municipality ay Valle del Cauca

Project carried out in 2016 to improve the food sovereignty and the living conditions of 9 beneficiary
families from the Puente Palo village, through their collective work in the establishment
of an integral school farm constituted by: diversified orchard, livestock with hens and chickens
and fruit component with a polyculture of abouth 4 hectares established with lulo (Solanum
quitoense), banana (Musa AAB), citrus (Citrus trifoliata) and avocado (Persea americana).It
has established and orchard infrastructure for chickens and hens, produced eggs and chickens
for self-consumption and also for emerging marketing. Food sovereignty on the sidewalk has
benn strengthened but need to be improved social relations and organization of rural families.
The project is the result of social struggles against the Colombian state organized as Cumbre
Agraria por la vida digna y el Buen Vivir.
