This work emerged as a demand of the Vila Nova Tatuoca community during an activity of participatory
evaluation of extension projects carried out in the community in 2016 on Rescue of
Knowledge and Food Customs and Use of Medicinal Plants. The project on the implantation of
productive yards had as reference the four initiatives of backyards of the fisherwomen-farmers
Binha, Janiene, Maria and Thaynara. In 2017 data were collected through dialogues and the
survey of the species present in the backyards of these women to be able to evaluate the food
security and sovereignty offered by food produced by the fish farmers, and to analyze the relationship
of these with the backyards and the consequences Of this relationship, based on the
participatory methodology. The discussion on agroecological yards is under construction, but
with the diagnosis of the consortium arrangements and to some extent the valuation of healthy
food production with autonomy.
