Abstract

The project “Huni Kuin Agroforestry System: alternative of collaborative occupation of the rubber
tree Ecoparque, Plácido de Castro, Acre / Brazil”, foresees the use and management of
natural resources, in which woody species (trees, shrubs, palms) are intercropped with crops
Agricultural activities. This productive model is known as the Agroforestry System (SAF). The
SAF is being implemented in a participatory way based on the ethnic and food heritage of the
Huni Kui people. The project’s counterparts will be: recovery of degraded areas, efficient management
of natural resources and concomitant promotion of food sovereignty, integral health,
community involvement, environmental education and marketing of organic products extracted
from the SAF.
