Agroecological integration for food sovereignty in quilombola community in Amapá´s Amazon, Brazil

Agroecology, directing agriculture to sustainability in its multidimensional sense, carries in this
experience a proposal to offer to fancy farmers in the far north of Brazil’s eastern Amazon
an environmentally friendly alternative to food sovereignty. With the synergy of joint actions
of different actors through technical visits, workshops, field day, and knowledge exchange,
sought to co-evolution of the natural environment focused on quality of life. The results presented
alternatives to improved agro-ecological techniques and socialized by rural actors, able
to bring diverse options of healthy food for the community, as well as possibilities to expand
your market and opportunities for income increase. It was concluded that the participation of
actors at all stages of the process brought a positive response to their own aspirations, mainly
seeking alternatives to face the difficulties collectively.
