Abstract

The mais of the text was to discuss how the design of the Brazilian National Program for Production
and Use of Biodiesel (NPPB) was materialized in the Dom Osório settlement. The data
and information colected was obtained through the triangulation of methods. The results were
analyzed by the content analysis technique and allowed to conclude that, despite the income
generated by the farmers access to the NPPB, their design in the settlement showed a social
fragility.
