This text deals with the reflection about the existing relations between the associated and agroecological production and the work culture that give historical foundation for the institution of the Festival of Exchange of Creole Seeds, in the traditional communities of the lowlands of Cuiabá. The empirical data are the result of research carried out from the Study and Research Group on Labor and Education. The analysis was made based on historical dialectical materialism, which made it possible to understand the multiple determinations that make up the celebration of the exchange of Creole seeds, as well as their possible meanings and implications.
