Family Farming in the Cerrado Soils: Case Study in the Serra Verde Settlement in the Municipality of Barra Do Garças-MT

Abstract

This work aimed to present an overview of family farming in the Serra Verde Settlement, in the municipality of Barra do Garças-MT, considering land use as a vital factor for its development. The methodology was based on the review of bibliographic, cartographic material and fieldwork, the latter, taking into account the speech of the interviewed families. Thus, it shows the lack of technical assistance regarding the use and management of soil by these families, in addition to the focus on agro-sustainable techniques for the effectiveness not only of family farming, but of other joint activities.
