The article highlights the experiences carried out at the Colégio Estadual Adelino Antônio Gomide located in the city of Anhanguera (GO). The actions originated in the Anhanguera Sustentável project carried out by NEPEA-Center for Studies, Research and Extension in Agroecology, at the Federal University of Catalão, having been constituted from an extension course offered to the students of the college, employees and the community in general. The objective of the project was to alert / awaken the community to sustainable actions and to Agroecology. In which we tried to teach and learn knowledge, science and experiences to make decisions that favor the conservation of the environment, soil, fauna and flora, which are too affected by anthropic action. This situation is due to the high consumption of discarded products and the great pressure in the natural environment, which generates numerous technogenic deposits in the open. The methodological procedures consisted of practical classes, learning and encouraging experiences of proper management of solid and organic residues and natural fertilization such as composting; alerts and studies on the uses and consequences of pesticides on human health and the environment. In addition to these, workshops were studied and held with the following generating themes: surface water management, generation, management, disposal and disposal of domestic solid waste and recyclable waste by the Anhanguera (GO) community. The results were visible through the adhesion and participation in the debates and workshops and in the application of the constructed knowledge. The participants set up a nursery with local cultures, and built two composters, one on the ground and the other in a 20L gallon of water. A workshop was also put in place for the preparation of liquid biofertilizer for use by the participants in foliar fertilization and construction. Finally, an Ecoponto container was set up to receive recyclable solid waste and to promote the correct practice of depositing and managing urban waste. It is concluded that the learning and the formation of a conscience in favor of sustainability was fundamental for that community.
