Abstract

From the dialogues around Education in Agroecology, we believe in the insertion of principles
and guidelines that integrate the place to which the school is inserted, transposing to teaching-
learning, local knowledge and practices. In this sense, the guiding principles of education in
agroecology were implemented through the Project; “Reading Tree” in the practices carried out
at the Municipal School Carmencita Matos Maia, located in the Flor da Serra Resettlement, in
Porto Nacional / TO. The action is part of the Agroecology Study Group (NEA), Unitas Agroecológica
and its objective was to develop and strengthen interdisciplinary pedagogical actions
between the academy and the rural school, in order to promote dialogue and experiences of
valorization and preservation of different knowledge. For that, it was used the inclusive methodology,
the constructivism and the “learning to learn”, which made it possible to highlight
education in agroecology and its principles as formators of sustainable practices.
