Abstract

The main objective of the work was to suggest that the construction of the contour lines, within the standards required by the research bodies, where it can, guarantee a better quality of the soil, consequently increasing the useful life. It is necessary for producers and professionals in the area of agronomy and biology to review the concept of soil conservation, analyzing the set of conservation practices, taking into account the type of soil, climate and culture to be implanted and taking seriously the demarcation and construction of contour lines, treating soil microbiology, which is responsible for the constant renewal of nutrients to plants. Failure to comply with technical recommendations in the demarcation and construction of contour lines implies poor distribution of rainwater caused by localized and laminar erosion, silting rivers and lakes destroying the microfauna and microflora of the rivers and in addition to destroying life on the ground. The surveys of the distance between the curves and the section size, compared to the survey data, provide a picture of ecological awareness in agriculture in Mundo Novo. Of the five properties surveyed, only one was properly maintained ten years ago. The lack of awareness is not the only villain, as it is accompanied by the decapitalization of producers who sometimes increase the distance between the curves to save on the costs of implanting the crops.
