This work aims to evaluate the effectiveness of alternative treatments for the storage of seeds of Enterolobium contortisiliquum. The seeds were subjected to five treatments: seeds mixed with macerate of pink pepper; ground black pepper; diatomaceous earth; coal ash; witness. 10 repetitions of 10 seeds were performed. The work lasted 90 days. At the end of this period, the physiological quality of the seeds was analyzed using the germination test. As for the effectiveness of treatments against insect attack, a test was carried out exposing the treated seeds to the borer insect. The “with a choice” test was applied. No insects, borers and other damage were observed in the seeds treated with black pepper, pink pepper, diatomaceous earth or coal ash. In this way, it is possible to recommend any of the treatments tested for the preparation of Enterolobium contortisiliquum seeds to be stored.
