Abstract

The objective of the study was to understand, from a systemic approach, the man-nature-agroecology relationship, in an establishment in the Araraquara community, Baixo Irituia (Irituia-PA). Based on the Participative Rural Diagnosis (PRD), methodologies were used to recognize the area, through informal conversations, based on participant observation, spoken map and seasonal calendar. The investigative actions resulted in the acquisition of knowledge about the dynamics of the relationships observed in the agroecosystem. In established systems, such as AFSs, there are no interventions, as they do their own biological and physical-chemical self-management. It was also noticed that the empirical knowledge corroborates with the scientific literature, demonstrating to be knowledge of great relevance. Vicência contributed beyond professional training, as the exchange of experiences between farmers and students made possible a more integrative and humane vision.
