Abstract

The production of organic food has been assuming great importance to reach the food security of consumers. Objectives: To know the perceptions of rural workers about the risks of planting with the use of pesticides and the importance of producer organizations to ensure a healthier diet, free of pesticides. Methods: The study is descriptive, with a qualitative approach, developed with 20 rural producers in the municipality of Miguel Calmon, BA. Data were collected through recorded interviews and based on the content of the topic. Results: It was evident that farmers know the risks of production using pesticides, which is why they have been developing organic production Conclusion: Producers have started to produce in an agroecological way and currently 40% of them are in agroecological transition, looking for new ways of production and social organization, but more training is needed.
