Abstract

Food and its relationship with planetary sustainability affects everyone and has become worse over the long term. The overconsumption of ultra-processed foods occurs at the expense of the planet's resilience, generating the coexistence of three important public health problems in the world: obesity, malnutrition and climate change. In this context, this bibliographic review aims to present a reflection on the relationship between Food and Nutritional Security (SAN) with food production systems, analyzing the importance of Agroforestry Systems (SAF's) for promoting healthy eating and planetary health.  The Covid -19 pandemic highlights the relationship between individual comprehensive health and planetary health, and the emergence of reflecting on the complexity of living systems. One of humanity's greatest challenges is to overcome the dichotomy between production systems and socio-ecological protection, conserving natural resources and enabling human survival within the system. Agroecological, SAF’s, combine the promotion of sovereignty, SAN, the conservation of agrobiodiversity and the promotion of essential ecosystem services for life on the planet.
