Abstract

This work seeks to present and reflect on the experience of the Vicente Nica Alternative Agriculture Center - CAV, in the conservation of creole seeds in the Jequitinhonha Valley, northeast region of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in partnership with family farmers and traditional communities in this region , which make up the group of guardian families of agrobiodiversity. Based on participatory actions and research methodologies, a survey of local agrobiodiversity and systematization of information on plant species was carried out. All of this was recorded in a printed and digital catalog, making this didactic / pedagogical material one of the final products of a dynamic and participatory process built in the last 5 years, whose main objective is to facilitate the identification, conservation, rescue, multiplication and exchange of these peasants from the region and the respective knowledge developed in the territory.
