Abstract

The present study described the experience of the first Creole Seed Exchange Fair in Ribeirão Grande - SP. About 47 participants participate, adults, including students, representatives of the public sector, rural producers, teachers from municipalities in the region. The Fair provided international knowledge on planting and conservation methods in Mexico, presentation of typical children's dances and exchange of seeds between regional family farmers. There was a need for a location strategically chosen for the next fairs, as distance was a factor that impacted the non-attendance and consequently the non-occurrence of the exchange of knowledge and creole seeds. The partnerships built contribute to the consolidation and expansion of this space of integration for family farmers holding Creole seeds.
