Seed Pathology: Concepts, Diagnosis and Alternative Control

Abstract

Seed Pathology is a multidisciplinary scientific branch that combines work actions and information about seeds, emphasizing their sanity. This article focuses on gathering important information about the Seed Pathology, with language and accessible. To this end, information on Seed Pathology in Brazil and in the world was compiled, with the time frame of the present day from the specialized literature. Regarding the results obtained, it can be described that an area is still lacking in efforts to produce knowledge mainly on the health quality seeds and alternative methods of phytopathogen control. Also, it can be described that most of the research and prescription efforts are inherent to the proposition of conventional agriculture. Further research can be carried out to improve this scientific production and to obtain it from the public.
