Germination of Pepper Seeds in Different Light Qualities

Abstract

The objective of this work was to verify if the germination of the pepper is influenced by different light qualities. The treatments were conducted in a completely randomized design, in a 2 x 4 factorial scheme (2 cultivars, Casca Dura Ikeda and Yolo Wonder and 4 qualities of light, white, red, intense red and absence of light). In general, it is observed that the main distinctions for the physiological potential of the seeds were attributed to the cultivars. The different qualities of the studied lights did not show sequential results that would suggest a classification regarding the photoblastic behavior of each cultivar.
