Abstract

This article is intended to present aspects of the production of agroecological knowledge,
relying primarily on knowledge from the farmers themselves, representing the fundamental
foundation of Agroecology as a science. Besides that, we start from the perspective that the
apparatus of knowledge linked to Agroecology as a science is born first within the farmers
themselves, to be subsequently worked on other knowledge, which comes from ecology, biology,
anthropology, sociology, among others. From this understanding, it is understood that the
training of professionals working in the field of Agroecology, should be a differentiated training,
to understand the importance of promoting the autonomy of rural people.
