Extractive activities related to non-timber forest products (NTFP) make it possible to generate
income and work, since this activity generates little or no environmental impact, contributing
to the conservation of forests. The objective of this work is to identify species with potential
non-timber of economic importance in the islands of the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, PA. Data
collection occurred in the year 2015, where properties were selected, indicating the social
organizations constituted in the municipality, which showed interest in developing the diversification
of production through the use of these products. The main species identified were açaí
(Euterpe oleracea, Mart), andiroba (Carapa guianensis Aubl), cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.),
murumuru (Astrocaryum murumuru Mart.), Virola / ucuuba (Virola surinamensis (Ro. (Theobrama
grandiflorum (Willd. Ex Spreng. Schum.) And miriti / buriti (Mauritia flexuosa L.) The identified
species showed an economic potential for the extraction of NTFPs with sustainable bases.
