Abstract

Urban agriculture is an agricultural practice around or within an urban area. This practice has been growing every time because, in addition to enabling the cultivation and obtaining of food, it can serve as a therapeutic and educational activity. In addition, it has some benefits that facilitate its practice, such as growing in small spaces of land, on walls or even in pots. The purpose of implementing suspended vegetable gardens at Casa Lar III was to encourage agro-ecological practices and contribute to the learning and awareness of sustainable food for children and adolescents. Thus, applying theoretical knowledge through dialogue with the help of different methodologies, combined with educational practices, with the proposal to take relevant topics, so that they are committed to the environment and the future of a new generation. The activities took place weekly in the space of the suspended garden with the contact of basic knowledge, maintenance and cleaning of spaces for planting. Leading to positive results, in which children acquired bases for their food and nutritional security.
