Abstract

Kaingang ethnicity traditional cosmology is based on natural, social, and supernatural universes
interacting reciprocally. In this case, agroecology plays a fundamental role in rescuing
traditional knowledge. The main goals of the present study were to get to know the students’,
locals’, and teachers’ perspectives regarding the agroforestry system, being all of them from
Colégio Benedito Rokag. Twenty-seven semi-structured interviews were done with different
participants within a village from December, 2015 until April, 2016. The most direct relationship
with the environment is Parí Party and, among the interests we found the rescue of native seeds,
such as Gãr pé maize, Pé Ni Grú beans (Unha de velha), and Shoin (Indian bean). It was
also found that the rotation of technicians from COPEL makes it hard to bond the population to
the educational environment projects.
