Model of appropriation and management of integrative technologies that promotes sustainability in economies of peasant communities case of biodigesters

A process was carried out to follow up that includes, divulgation activities in municipalities
implicated, a selection of beneficiaries, delivery and installation of material including teaching
the producers of 29 biodigesters, in seven municipalities of Tolima - Colombia. To identify key
elements that would allow the development a model of appropriation and management. It will
help in; decision-making of users of biodigesters technology, the reduction of interference in
adoption and its impact on farmers’ livelihoods. In addition, this will allow the generation of
self-management process and strengthen local capacities in the use and management of biodigesters
technology. This process was performed to development of a methodological model
that includes a.) Divulgation to all municipalities involved b.) Selection of beneficiaries with precarious
quality of life characteristics, c.) Identification of model producers, d.) Training sessions
on installation and maintenance of Biodigesters and e.) Verification of Self-installation process.
