Abstract

This text addresses issues related to the claims of Agroecology as a sociopolitical approach, in addition to production systems and production techniques. Agroecology is understood here as a paradigm for good living, based on principles of environmental, social and political ethics, committed to socio-productive inclusion and social transformation through agriculture. For this discussion we present the experience of the Social Control Organization (OCS), “Agroecological Heart”, which will culminate in the creation of the First Fair of Certified Organic Products in the municipality of Santa Maria-RS. The certification dynamic involved Emater-Rs and the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) through the Social Incubator. The indicators used for product certification and the limits imposed by these are discussed, for the visibility of Agroecology as a path to good and not just as production techniques, which, according to Law 10.831/2003, will ensure the certification of products Organic.
