Abstract

Recognizing agrobiodiversity as one of the most relevant biocultural expressions and the role of women in its reproduction and care, this paper describes the management of native agrobiodiversity by indigenous women in the different stages of the food system. This analysis focuses on the dynamics established by the Group of Women at the Tentamí Community of the Guaraní Nation in Chuquisaca, Bolivia. The findings indicate that the processes of recovery, safeguarding and agroecological production of native seeds carried out by women are an expression of different forms of ecological, cultural and socio-economic care. Based on this logic of care and collective values, the described processes contribute to the construction of food sovereignty.
