Abstract

The objective of this work was to establish educational practices in agroecology and agroecological
backyard as a permanent pedagogical artistic facility in the Technological Incubator of
Popular Cooperatives of the Federal University of Viçosa (ITCP / UFV). The objective was to
enable empowerment and protagonism of the social actors involved, in the ecological, economic,
cultural and social dimensions, which are integrated by defining the agroecological management
practices. The main actions developed were about living in agroecological practices in
the oint efforts, management and maintenance of the site. The re-signification of the external
space to the ITCP became a means of collective production of practical, scientific and popular
knowledge in addition to the teaching and extension areas already working in agroecology at
the UFV. The waste produced by ITCP was transformed into utensils for the construction of the
garden, composing the final work, and organic waste fed the compost that preceded the joint
efforts.
