Seed workshop in Nova Tatuoca community: The importance of biodiversity rescue

This article was developed from a seed office that was framed as one of the objectives of the
extension project that involves as a demand of the New Tatuoca Community aimed at the accomplishment
of non formal educational activities, related to complementary and integrative
health practices, with residents of the village. The objective of this work is to expose the importance
of creole seeds as a source of biodiversity rescue in order to search for autonomous
food production, a use of creole seeds for soil improvement and the importance of creating a
seed bank. The main result of this work was a an action of a joint effort in one of the backyards
of the community with a construction of a productive backyard in the form of a spiral followed
by planting of creole seeds and an activity as children of the community having as action a
construction of seed bombs which are then thrown over several areas of the village for an introduction
of new species.
