between EFA ‘Serra do Brigadeiro and the surrounding community in the municipality of Ervália-
MG. Through a dynamic relationship between school and community, an exchange of
know-how was established with the women living in the area. During the dialogues, the medicinal
plants most commonly used by the community were identified. These were used in
the construction of the beds in geometric formats within the school premises, a significant
collaboration to the practical learning of the students and also the community for facilitating
access To a diversity of plant species of medicinal interest and to the appreciation of traditional
knowledge. For the school the results were optimization of more harmonious spaces and closer
relationship of the parents with the school. It is concluded that through this method the local
development link was strengthened, conceived as the junction between education, community
and environment, in the construction of a society to value the diverse forms of knowledge, that
