Geotecnologias, Educação e Agroecologia: levantamento de quintais, terreiros e sítios no município de Abaetetuba/PA

Abstract

 

This study is the result of methodologies and pedagogical practices established during the discipline of Geoprocessing Applied to Agroecology, within the Technologist in Agroecology course of the University Campus UFPA/Abaetetuba-PA. The objective was the mapping of agricultural systems in the spaces around houses, recognized as backyards, terraces and farms in the municipality of Abaetetuba/PA in order to gather relevant data for the formation of dialogues between geotechnologies, education and agroecology. Two backyards, one terreiro and one sítio were mapped. The UTM Geo Map and Time Stamp Camera applications, the Quatum Gis 3.22.8 software, and informal interviews with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire previously discussed during the course were used as tools for surveying, data management, and the elaboration of cartographic products. The backyards, farms, or terraces proved to offer several advantages for the families. It can be affirmed that the application of geotechnology linked to a perspective of pedagogical action is fundamental for the recognition of spaces such as backyards, terraces or farms and their contribution to the generation of territories of Living Well through the production of healthy food that respect agroecological principles.
