Agroecological extension project in four religious communities of the African terreiros in the Federal District: ancestry and traditional knowledge in the construction of sovereignty, food and nutrition security.

The IFB Agroecology Course, in partnership with Fiocruz-Brasília, has been developng a project with four religious communities of the African terreiros in the Administrative Regions of Planaltina and Sobradinho in the Federal District, using participatory methodologies that bring together alumni and students of the Agroecology Course and professors and researchers from IFB-Planaltina and Fiocruz-Brasília. The results obtained point out the potential of producing food and ritualistic plants for sacralization and healing practices, as well as food for consumption by terreiro communities through the cultivation of creole maize, beans, pumpkin and yams; as well as the development of pedagogical strategies to build skills and training skills for members involved in the project.
