Abstract

The hegemonic agrifood system oppresses farmers and consumers, subjecting farmers to unfavorable prices and conditions, and consumers to access products of unknown origin and low quality. In face of this, the movement searching for alternatives involves bringing farmers and consumers closer together through a short food supply chain. The Family Farming Commercialization Laboratory works with research and extension in the creation of production-consumption arrangements that involve greater participation of farmers and consumers. This paper aims to report on the experiences of university extension developed by LACAF, analyzing its contributions to the promotion of agroecology and its educational potential.
