Abstract

The present work had the objective of analyzing the participation of undergraduate
students and extension workers and their training processes in the Technical Advisory
and Extension Rural Project - ATER Agroecológica coordinated by the Social Advisory
Service to Popular Organizations in partnership with the Regional Institute of Small
Farming on Sertão of the São Francisco Baiano Territory. The involvement of the students of
the Research and Sertão Agroecological Studies Center - UNIVASF took place in 2015 and involved
the activities of planning and execution of participatory diagnoses in rural communities
in 4 municipalities and involved approximately 400 families. The participation of the students
together with the extension agents points to the multidimensionality of the training processes
of these subjects. The experience of practical, concrete experiences with real subjects and
problems, mainly based on dialogic and participatory conceptions, provide learning that goes
beyond the limits of university education.
