Abstract

This paper the experience of students of the Agronomy course at the University Nucleus of Rurópolis-Pa/UFOPA in the construction of the Agroecological Space. The space's implementation activities began in April 2022 with joint efforts to carry out agroecological practices, with the objective of producing healthy food, building agroecological knowledge of the students involved and fostering cooperation, research and university extension. The main challenges experienced were: inexperience in pest control and phytosanitary management; understanding the needs of the soil and plants, guiding environmental education as the guiding principle of caring for the planet; maintain the animation of the group to carry out the activities. One of the current challenges is to involve civil society in order to encourage the production of healthy foods in small spaces, whether in the countryside, city or peri-urban areas of the municipality of Rurópolis.
