The hortoecology project as a propeller for healthy foods in the municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon -PR

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the hortaecological pedagogical project
has for students in the 6th and 7th grades of elementary education. In order to carry out
the research, ten semi-structured questionnaires were applied, being a basic and qualitative
research with a descriptive approach. Ten students were selected randomly between 11 and 14
years old who were attending the 6th and 7th grades. The results showed that in relation to the
favorite activity of the students to the vegetable garden is the weeding. And their main motivation
in gardening activities is a “shawl” they call a greenery kit containing ready-to-eat greens
that have been harvested during the week. In addition, although pupils do not like to consume
vegetables, the fact that they are being produced by them is a stimulus to their consumption
especially when they know the origin of the vegetables and know that they are grown without
the addition of chemical inputs.
