Abstract

The present work aims to show that the management of native açaíals is an important means
of environmental awareness and the transmission of agroecological knowledge in favor of improving
the relationship between man and nature in a sustainable way, reporting the experience
obtained in the quilombo remnant community. Tartarugueiro located in the municipality of
Ponta de Pedras-Ilha do Marajó-PA. The results obtained demonstrated that the rational and
moderate management of native açaíals is a practice that not only leads to an increase in fruit
production but also improves the income of agroextractivist producers in traditional Amazonian
communities without compromising biodiversity, conserving species of food importance, Oilseed,
timber, and medicinal plants in a sustainable manner.
